EuroLeague DraftKings Preview – 04/23/2019

DraftKing’s EuroLeague (EL) slate consists of two playoff games:

Fenerbahce Istanbul (-4.5) at Zalgiris – 148.5 O/U

Real Madrid BC at Panathinaikos (-2.5) – 158.5 O/U

Fenerbahce is a 4.5 point favorite on the road, but there is slight risk of them blowing out Zalgiris. They won game 1 of the series 76-43 before dropping game 2 82-80. Personally I won’t be assuming any blowouts on this slate.

This is the third game of both series, so we have some data to work with when predicting minutes. Many of the major DFS websites do not even include any EuroLeague coverage. Therefore, a little research could give you a big edge.

Full projections available here.

Top Lock: Nick Calathes, G, $11.9k

He is the highest priced player on the slate, and I wouldn’t overthink it here. There is less scoring in the EL compared to the NBA, and on a two game slate you need the points. He plays heavy minutes, and is unlikely to repeat his 0-11 shooting from last game. With an normal shooting night he has 40+ DK point potential.

Top Fade: Ali Muhammed, G, $8.1k

I don’t think the minutes or usage are there right now to justify this price tag. He’s played 14.5 minutes and taken 4.5 shots per game in the two playoff games. I’d rather target players down a tier from Muhammed so I can afford elite options like Calathes and Facundo Campazzo.

Top Value: Gabriel Deck, F, $4.4k

Deck returned from injury at the start of the playoffs after missing nearly a month. With another 3 days off since game 2, Deck should be healthier. He is already playing 15-20 minutes, and at this price is a good value on this slate.

Biggest Risk/Reward: Jan Vesely, F, $9.2k

Vesely missed Fenerbahce’s last two games of the regular season due to injury, and completely bombed in game 1, with just 4.5 DK points at a $10.4k price tag. Last game was an improvement, with 15.5 DK points at $9.4k, and this slate has him at $9.2. If his minutes continue their trend back towards 25 per game, 25-30 DK points is very reasonable.
