Arena Football League Week 3 – DraftKings DFS Preview

DraftKings has combined all 3 Arena Football League week 3 games into a single slate. You can’t afford all six QB’s, so we’ll find some WR values.

Reminder: if you haven’t played AFL DFS before, start with the introduction. If you skip that, just remember not to draft a kicker ever.

First, a review of the week 2 AFL results. If you follow me on Twitter, you saw this tweet prior to lock:

Luckily for me, not many people follow or listen to me. I rode the sub to a win in the main AFL GPP.

Besides patting myself on the back, this shows that if you’re entering a significant amount of money, you should follow teams on Twitter and check for starters prior to lock.

LOCK: Malachi Jones, WR, $7.4k

Call me a broken record. Jones was my lock last week at $6.6k. He ended up being the captain of my winning lineup in the main AFL GPP (see above).

6 catches, 119 yards, 2 touchdowns and a rush attempt. 33.1 DraftKings points and his salary only rises from $6.6k to $7.4k.

Jones will get a chance with an NFL team soon enough. Don’t over think this one, lock him in.

FADE: Fabian Guerra, WR, $8.2k

Guerra wins a GPP in week 2, but is a week 3 fade. Three touchdowns on 5 catches is tough to repeat. They tripled his price week-over-week, and at this price you can get safer plays with higher upside.

However, If you’re max entering the main GPP’s, I’d have at least 1 Guerra given the multiple TD upside.

VALUE/RISK: Phillip Barnett, WR, $3.2k

Week 1 he took in both of his targets for TD’s. He could hit 6x value off of 2 or 3 targets if he converts in the redzone. He could also have 0 catches. Proceed with caution.

The Arena Football League week 3 slate doesn’t provide as much value as last week. However, keep an eye out for any injury news or lineup changes. I will be tweeting out anything I see at @SHR_Stats

Good luck, and I hope you get second behind me.
