NBA Correlation Trios

NBA correlation trios look at the relationship between three teammates, specifically their Minutes per game, DraftKings points per game, and FanDuel points per game for the 2024-25 NBA Season. 2023-24 data is here.

This trio statistic looks at: How is Player A’s performance (minutes, DK points, FD points) related to the combined performance of Teammate 1 and Teammate 2?

Using the NBA correlation trios tool: consider the Lakers this season. You could filter for Teammate 1 being Lebron James and Teammate 2 being Anthony Davis (or flip the order – it doesn’t matter). This will show you how the other Lakers’ players correlate to the combined performance of Lebron and AD.

This tool can help when building lineups, particularly on smaller slates, where it often makes sense to play three teammates, or in single-game/showdown contests, where you are forced to play multiple teammates together.

This is an extension of the Teammate Correlation Tool, available here, which looks at the relationship between two teammates. That page also explains the correlation statistics in general, and is a great place to get started.
